Kais Ali

Sound Editor, Designer, and Composer

Hello, my name is Kais Ali. I started my journey in audio as a musician. I grew up studying vocal performance, later picked up piano, and found that I have a knack for theory. I also have a passion for physics, technology and a yearning to understand the intricacies of psychoacoustics. These two passions lead me to the Sound Recording Technology program at DePaul where I learned recording & mixing techniques as well as intensive ear training. After graduating, I interned at Periscope Post & Audio, and at Earhole Studios (both in Chicago). After a short time of focusing on freelancing for a few months after graduation I started full time at Volubility Podcasting in Washington, DC and worked there full time for 2 years. After that I transitioned into a freelance contracter role for Critical Noise labs and now am based in Cambridge, MA.
